How apropos that you were watching a commercial for coke, because that seeminly innocuous fun drink that is hyped for kids to down, is one of the major entry points for their nervous systems and immune functions to break down.. requiring more and more stimulants to function and downers to become less hyper, and it is only a hope skip and jump to hard core legal and illegal drugs like coke, and prozac, valium, yada yada. Late in the season, as he lost weight, Gokey looked more and more like the clean beautiful Young Robert Downey Jr, before the drugs stole his amazing looks. What a waste of an incredibly sensitive and talented man. Lucky for us that , Gokey has a strong Christian Faith and a loving Family who has always supported him, and he can get up in front of millions of people, and feel comfortable in his own skin, and doesn't need drugs to perform. This way he can keep his good looks well into his senior years. Unlike many musicians who seek to express themselves in music, as they are too shy otherwise, and don't feel free enough to perform without them. What a shining example this Gokey is. I only wish that Robert Downy Jr. finds himself and finds that kind of self esteem, that only a truly good man who comes from a clean heart space can.
